May 27, 2009

44 year old journeyman NHL player Peter Zezel died due to a rare blood disorder yesterday. He played 873 games in his NHL career over 15 seasons. He’s best remembered for his time in Toronto where he scored 50 goals and 128 points in four seasons, and helped guide the club to back to back appearances in the conference finals in 1993 and 1994. He had been keeping active in the Toronto community running hockey and soccer camps, as well as making numerous appearances on Off the Record.
